The necessity of energy-saving transformation of ball mills. Ball mills are low-speed and heavy-duty equipment with large loading capacity and large starting torque. Generally, a hydraulic coupling is required to complete the starting and speed regulation of the transmission system. Cement, ceramics, and metallurgical ball mills usually use an additional starter motor to start with an impact start or a soft start device, which has a large impact on the power grid, and the torque required for operation is reduced after the start is completed, so there is a lot of room for energy conservation. The currently commonly used driving methods are: three-phase AC motor, hydraulic coupling, gear reducer, belt reducer. Since the ball mill is a constant torque load, when a hydraulic coupling is used to regulate the speed, its speed regulation efficiency is equal to the speed regulation ratio, and a large part of the energy is wasted in the hydraulic coupling.

The modified ball mill can realize automatic control and mains power/power-saving switching function, and can overcome the rebound voltage caused by the large inertia of the ball mill, effectively ensuring the normal operation of the ball mill. Since the starting current of the ball mill is greatly reduced, there will be no impact on the power grid and a drop in the voltage of the power grid, eliminating gate adjustments or failures of other electrical equipment caused by the starting of the ball mill. Under the same power grid capacity, the number of installed machines can be increased. The built-in automatic operation function of the current feedback system allows the ball mill grinding time, additional grinding time and automatic shutdown function to be easily set through frequency conversion, making the operation more intelligent and humane.
