Alluvial gold mines in Africa are mostly distributed in river terraces and alluvial plains. Small-scale mining needs to take into account efficiency, cost and environmental protection. In view of the weak local infrastructure and limited funds, the following equipment combination is the most applicable:
1. Exploration and mining equipment
Handheld pulse metal detectors (such as the Minelab GPX series) can quickly locate shallow gold sands with a detection depth of up to 1.5 meters, which is suitable for individual miners. For riverbed mining, diesel-powered high-pressure water guns (water pressure 6-8MPa) are preferred with manual gold panning pans, which can process 30-50 cubic meters of ore sand per day. For hard sedimentary layers, small hydraulic breaker picks (power 5-7kW) are 3 times more efficient than traditional picks and shovels.
2. Sorting and enrichment system
The three-stage gravity sorting combination is the most cost-effective:
① A foldable aluminum alloy chute (length 2-3 meters) completes the roughing process and captures 80% of visible gold particles;
② A vibrating gold felt trough processes fine particles and uses polyurethane fluff to absorb gold flakes below 0.5 mm;
③ A micro centrifuge (such as Hy-G 12V) processes tailings, with a processing capacity of 200 kg per hour and a recovery rate of more than 60% for micron-level gold particles. A manual magnetic separator can separate iron-containing impurities and reduce concentrate loss.
