Tailings are “waste" discharged by mining enterprises under certain technical and economic conditions, but most of them contain various non-ferrous, black, rare earth and non-metallic minerals, which are valuable secondary resources.Xingkuang Group believes that when technical and economic conditions permit, it is necessary to re-develop it.

But before technical and economic conditions permit, how should we use these tailings?

1. First of all, we must do our best to comprehensively recycle the useful components of tailings resources, and use special technologies and synthetic processes to reselect the tailings to maximize the recovery of useful components in the tailings, which can further reduce the number of tailings.Some mineral processing plants are developing in the direction of no tailings.

2. Tailings are used as filling materials for underground mining goaf areas of mines, that is, water and sand filling materials or cemented filling aggregates.Tailings is used as a filling material in the goaf area. The ideal filling process is the full tailings filling process, but it is still in the experimental research stage.In production, the coarse-grained part of the tailings is used as the filling material for the goaf area.After the tailings of the mineral processing plant are discharged, they are sent to the tailings preparation section for grading, and the coarse sand part is sent to the underground goaf area, while the fine-grained part enters the tailings reservoir for storage.This tailings treatment method has been applied at home and abroad.

3. Use tailings (sand making machine) as raw materials for building materials: make cement, silicate tailings bricks, tiles, aerated concrete, cast stone, refractory materials, glass, ceramics, concrete aggregates, glass-ceramic, slag-soluble tiles, foam glass and foam materials.

4. Use tail sand to build roads, pavement materials, non-slip materials, coastal fields, etc.

5. Cover the soil and make fields on the tailings accumulation site, grow crops or plant trees for afforestation.

6. Store the tailings pile in a specially built tailings reservoir. This is the tailings treatment method currently widely used in most mineral processing plants.

The comprehensive utilization of tailings can have many uses. Xingkuang Group has found that the most economical treatment method is tailings sand and raw materials for building materials. For example, treated tailings can be used as raw materials for cement, tile, aerated concrete, refractory materials, glass, ceramics, concrete aggregates, etc., tailings sand can replace part of the mechanism sand used to make concrete, build roads, pavement materials, etc.
