Spiral classifiers can be divided into single-spiral and double-spiral classifiers according to the number of spiral shafts, and according to the height of the overflow weir, they are divided into three types: high weir type, low weir type and sinking type.

High weir type single spiral classifier

The position of the overflow weir of the high-weir spiral classifier is higher than that of the bearing center at the lower end of the spiral shaft, but lower than that of the upper edge of the spiral at the overflow end. It has a certain settlement area and is suitable for coarse-grained grading. Overflow particle size greater than 100 can be obtained.

The overflow weir of the low-weir spiral classifier is lower than the bearing center of the overflow end, so the settlement area is small and the overflow production capacity is low; it is usually not used for grading operations and is used to flush ore sand for desilting.

The entire spiral at the overflow end of the sunken spiral classifier is immersed under the liquid level of the sedimentation zone. The sedimentation zone has a large area and depth, which is suitable for fine-grained grading, and the overflow particle size of less than 100 can be obtained.

 

So, what is the working principle of the spiral classifier?

The finely ground ore slurry of the spiral classifier is fed into the sink from the inlet located in the middle of the sedimentation zone, and the lower end of the sink installed at the inclined angle is the graded sedimentation zone of the ore slurry.The spiral rotates at low speed, stirring the ore slurry, so that the light and fine particles are suspended on it, and flow to the overflow weir to overflow, and enter the next process for treatment. The coarse and heavy particles settle to the bottom of the tank, and are sent by the spiral to the discharge port as sand return discharge.Usually, the spiral classifier forms a closed circuit with the mill, and the coarse sand is returned to the mill for re-grinding.

 

Spiral classifier, how about the technical operation?

1. Operating conditions

(1) No part of the oil is allowed to fall in the classifier tank.

(2) The bearings and reducers of each part are in good lubrication condition, and where it is not easy to refuel, the tubing should be used to refuel at a convenient place.

(3) Metal nets must be installed at the mine feed mouth to prevent iron balls from flowing in.

(4) The coupling, belt, and open gear must have a firm and reliable protective cover, and the electrical equipment must be sensitive and reliable.

 

2. Check the driving sequence and precautions before driving

2.1 The operator shall be responsible for the inspection of the equipment, and the problems found shall be dealt with in a timely manner. Major problems shall be reported to the relevant leaders before they can be dealt with, and detailed records shall be recorded in the operation records.;

2.2 Inspection site and content:

(1) Lubrication system:

Check the amount of oil in the gearbox and whether the grease of the open gear is sufficient.Check the oil supply of each bearing refueling device.

(2) Various parts of the body:

Check whether the screws and keys of each part are loose; check the tightness of the belt;

Check whether the spiral blade is loose and whether it is worn too much.

(3) Electrical equipment: check whether the electrical switches and limit switches are intact.

2.3 After checking that it is correct and contacting the front and rear positions, it can be activated.The order is as follows:

(1) Cut into the power supply and press the start button;

(2) Pay attention to whether there are abnormal changes;

(3) Turn on the waterway switch.

 

3. Maintenance and key inspection content in operation

The following departments should be checked frequently during operation, and the results should be recorded in the operation records in detail.

Bearings of each department.Check that the temperature of each bearing shall not exceed 70℃; whether each refueling point is clean and whether the oil supply is normal.All parts of the body: whether the bolts in each part are loose; check for abnormal vibration and noise.

 

4. The operation sequence and precautions of parking

After receiving the parking notice, proceed in the following parking order.

(1) Block the sand return tank of the classifier

(2) Stop the water supply.

(3) After all the ore in the tank is discharged, press the stop button to stop.

(4) After parking, the spiral part should be raised to the ore surface.
