Causes of full grinding of the ball mill:

 

It may be due to excessive feeding, resulting in the grinding capacity of the grinding body cannot adapt, and then the full grinding phenomenon appears; the particle size of the material entering the mill becomes larger or the grindability becomes worse, and when these two situations occur, the feeding amount is not reduced in time; the moisture content of the material entering the mill is too high, and the ventilation is poor, the wind cannot take the water vapor and fine materials generated during the grinding process out of the mill in time, causing the material to adhere to the surface of the steel ball and the liner due to high humidity, increasing the buffering effect and reducing the grinding efficiency; at the same time, the wet material also blocks the gap between the partition plate and the discharge grate plate, resulting in difficulty in discharging. "Saturated grinding" caused by this reason is more common.

 

The grates of the partition plate are blocked by broken iron filings and debris. In the closed-circuit system, the powder selection efficiency of the powder selector is reduced, the amount of return material is too much, and the feeding amount is not reduced, so the grinding capacity of the ball mill cannot adapt. The average ball diameter of the steel balls in the first bin is too small, or the filling rate is too low, or the filling rate of the grinding body in the first bin is much lower than that in the second bin. One or two partition plates between the first and second bins are partially broken or perforated, causing the grinding body to run into the bin and reduce the grinding capacity.

 

Treatment of saturated grinding of ball mill:

 

1. Usually reduce or stop feeding, and strengthen the ventilation in the mill, so that the ball mill works with less or no material to generate more heat. The drying mill should increase the heat entering the mill to promote the faster evaporation of water and be carried away by the hot air flow; at the same time, the materials adhered to the steel balls, lining plates and the grates of the partition plate will crack under the heat expansion of their adherends, and fall off under the repeated impact of the grinding body.

 

2. If the above method fails, you can add grinding materials to the mill while stopping feeding (add dry coal or quicklime to the raw material mill, add dry slag or dry slag to the cement mill), and feed a small amount of materials after the grinding sound is close to normal; after the grinding sound is normal, gradually increase the feeding amount until normal feeding.

 

3. When the saturation grinding is particularly severe, it is necessary to use the back grinding method to deal with it. The method is to pour out the balls and materials in the bin, chisel off the crust on the lining and steel balls, remove the obstruction of the grate seam of the partition board, and then re-match the balls or load the poured balls. When the ball mill needs to be cleared, it is appropriate to use the back grinding method.
