We all know that ball mills are one of the most important equipment in mineral processing operations. The normal operation of ball mills has a significant impact on the operation of the entire mineral processing plant. The qualification of the grinding particle size directly affects the subsequent mineral processing operations, and the quality of the grinding particle size is closely related to the feeding particle size. Below, we will introduce how to choose the feeding particle size correctly.
When the fineness requirements for grinding products are the same, if the feeding particle size is large, the production capacity of the ball mill is low; If the particle size of the ore is small, the production capacity of the ball mill is high. The main reason for this phenomenon is that the feeding particle size is small, the ore stays in the mill for a short time, and the speed is fast.
It should be noted that when the grinding product is required to be coarse, the productivity of the mill varies more significantly with the feed particle size, while when the grinding product is required to be fine, the productivity of the mill does not vary significantly with the feed particle size.
When the feed particle size, i.e. the feed grinding particle size, is small, the grinding fineness is relatively easy to achieve. However, there is a contradiction between fineness and productivity. When the feeding particle size is the same, the production capacity of the mill decreases as the fineness of the grinding product increases. The finer the requirements for grinding products, the more productivity decreases. But for the coarse grinding process, the change in the fineness of the grinding product has a less significant impact on the productivity of the mill than for fine grinding.
In summary, in actual production, each beneficiation plant should find the most suitable mill feeding particle size based on the scale of the beneficiation plant and the properties of the ore. The following is a more suitable feeding particle size given by Xingkuang Group based on 30 years of mineral processing experience, for reference only.
